About the Journal

The Department of Human and Family Development Studies (DHFDS) envisions being the National Institute in the study, advancement, and practice of transdisciplinary approaches toward enhancing human development and family studies.

Focus and Scope

AHEAD is the bi-annual, double-blind, online, peer-reviewed journal of the DHFDS. It focuses on transdisciplinary research related to human development and family studies. It is a venue for sharing and engaging theories, concepts, practical applications, and research output of academics, practitioners, and policymakers vis-à-vis the fields of human development and family studies.

Rapid global changes profoundly affect the individual and the family. Caught between these instant transformations are the person and the family. Learning and education are no longer confined to time and place. It is a continuous process that springs from people’s everyday lives and interactions with other groups and the environment. DHFDS believes in contributing to the body of knowledge regarding human development and family studies to further these distinct fields.
