Editorial

The Asia Pacific Journal of Human Development and Family Studies (AHEAD) came
into life as a process and a product. The December 2022 maiden issue is a manifestation
of collective efforts by tracing the roots of the UPLB Department of Human and Family
Development Studies (DHFDS): highlighting the valuable contributions of various
stakeholders and celebrating growth amidst challenges and obstacles.

As a process, it takes hard work, collaboration, and partnership to ensure that every
single contribution is valued, recognized, and appreciated. For this maiden issue, we
have received submissions from authors based in the Philippines and overseas. The
Editorial Team of AHEAD is truly grateful for this overwhelming support. The process
was complicated and sometimes tiring, but we are thankful to Dr. Rufo Gil Z. Albor,
the Chairperson of DHFDS, and Dr. Greg T. Pawilen for guiding our team since Day
1. It is also with great pride that we recognize Asst. Prof. Raphael Ferrer for his
assistance and vision for AHEAD. The journal is a neophyte, but we are honored to
welcome respected scholars from all over the world as members of our Editorial Board.
Their contributions will always be our guiding light as AHEAD realizes its vision of
serving research scholars and expert practitioners in the field of human development
and family studies.
